My Story

Hello, lovelies!

It’s me, Ella—Melbourne-based green goddess and creator of miniature worlds behind glass that tell their own stories. I’m the bubbly, straight-talking, magic-believing creative brain behind Terrariums by Ella. For the past seven years I’ve been the proud owner of this little business that provides BIG joy to those looking for a unique, nature-inspired piece of art to uplift their home.

I’m a proud mum, wife and loyal friend to all who know me. My family is my biggest why and my greatest love. My second biggest loves are my dog, JJ, and boat cruises. I’ve been on many in my lifetime and hope to go on many more.

I’ve also always loved the great outdoors. Mother Nature’s my creative muse. When I design a terrarium, I draw inspiration from who my customers are and things I see in nature. Then, I try and align the two to create something thoughtful and unique. My art really does imitate life in its purest form.

Prior to starting my biz, I completed a tourism degree, but my heart wasn’t in it. I knew I wanted to do something creative and help people connect to nature and improve their wellbeing. But urban life is busy, right? And finding time to be in nature and focus on self-care is hard for the average person. So, I did some research and found many holistic benefits related to terrariums. I enrolled in a terrarium making course and was instantly hooked. It came so naturally, and I instantly knew this was my calling.

I started my business as soon as the course ended. And the rest, as they say, is history. I’ve never looked back and can’t imagine doing anything else.
